Sterling silver embraces a striking piece of Kentucky Agate, the official state gemstone of Kentucky, in this elongated and asymmetrical ring. At 1.25 inches in length, the stone commands the hand while inviting the eye to explore its natural variations and quiet beauty.
I begin each ring by creating the setting for the stone, allowing its individual characteristics to guide the design. From there, I form a ring band—not a perfect circle, but a wrap of silver with its own movement and character. The setting is intentionally left unsoldered at both ends of the wrap, allowing the ring to be adjusted for size. This thoughtful construction means the piece can find its way onto a greater variety of hands without compromising the original design.
The asymmetry of the ring creates another dimension of discovery. Wear it in one direction and its presence feels distinctly different than when it is turned the other way. The stone, silver, and hand become part of an ever-shifting composition.
