Around the year 2000, I was selling my jewelry at art fairs and I made a few pairs of small, simple earrings for my young daughters, toddlers at the time.  I brought some similar designs to my art shows and sold the first pair to a woman of a certain age and the second pair to a large, tattooed man wearing a leather jacket.

I thought, "I am making jewelry for a cross-section of the population!"
