Sterling Silver & Kentucky Agate Ring
Warm as bourbon and dark as its deepest shadows, this elongated Kentucky agate is the centerpiece of a sculptural, one-of-a-kind ring. The polished stone moves through rich butterscotch and amber into deep mauve-brown, with natural patterns that seem to flow beneath its surface.
The solid sterling silver band is handcrafted by Rachel Savané using a process of manipulating the metal at the very edge of its melting point. The resulting band has an organic, sculptural character, with one side substantially wider than the other.
That asymmetry gives Bourbon Flux an unexpected quality: it has no single prescribed orientation. Turn the ring one way and the broad silver band creates one silhouette; turn it the other way and the proportions shift, revealing another. The wearer can decide which expression feels right.
The Kentucky agate—Kentucky's official state gemstone—brings a sense of place to the piece, while the fluid silver and shifting orientation give it a distinctly contemporary character.
