Throughline
This Kentucky agate holds an extraordinary little landscape of color: translucent browns and smoky grays, warm ochre and olive, a vivid red ribbon traveling across the stone, and an unexpected white cloud floating within it.
Part of the pleasure of Throughline is discovering how responsive those colors are to what surrounds them. Worn against black, some tones recede while others suddenly come forward; against lighter or warmer colors, the stone can take on an entirely different character. Try it with colors you don't even see in the agate—you may be surprised by what the stone picks up and reveals.
Set in sterling silver with a fluid, hand-formed band, Throughline is handcrafted by Rachel Savané at her workbench right inside the gallery in downtown Lexington, Kentucky.
