Cut this ring off!

Ice. Lube. Dental floss. Fire Department!

If any of these methods work for you, then you are not reading this...

Rings get stuck. Maybe you tried it on in a chilly, air conditioned shop and it was perfect, but after a salty snack, a work out and some heat and humidity, the story changed. Or maybe, like my girlfriend, the friend gave you a ring at age 12 and your body grew, but the base of that finger adapted to the restricted space and the rest became normal size anyway. The classic scenario seems to be the wedding rings that have seen a long and happy marriage, but can no longer come off. Share your story in the comments.

I never anticipated developing this skill as a jewelry artist, but after a desperate request years back, I got the tool needed for the task. It's somewhat like a cross between a can opener and a pair of pliers. I'm not sure if Fire Houses have this tool, but it certainly requires refined motor skills to operate.

Let's just say this: if you need this particular task done and you're nearby, I can assist. I also offer repair services of gold and silver pieces. I am happy to quote a repair any time. We can make that too small ring comfortable to wear again.
